A Center for Restoration, Healing, and Self-Discovery

The word “resonate” is most often associated with a sound that is deep, full and reverberating.

It comes from the Latin word “resonate” which means “resound”

A resonate sound often evokes images, memories and even emotions.

It can mean you agree with a person, an idea or a concept, such as “Your philosophy of healing really resonates with me.”

RESONATE! is a non-profit organization providing alternative and creative healing strategies at free or affordable rates for anyone! This includes people with traumatic brain injuries, trauma of any kind, neurological conditions and those who just want to find healthier ways to relax, reduce stress, and more. What is Trauma?

Trauma is Greek for the word "wound." Trauma is any wound experienced by a person that is unsettling, unexpected, scary or disturbing. As a culture, we are just beginning to understand the physical, emotional, and spiritual repercussions of trauma. There are "Big T" traumas and "little t" traumas. Many (but not all) of these experiences happen to us before we have any memory. Stress hormones are released (cortisone and adrenaline) which are useful for our "fight or flight" responses. But chronic stress can weaken the immune system, effect our entire nervous system (our brain!) and/or cause hormonal imbalances that can lead to very serious health consequences. There are obvious physical traumas, such as brain or spinal cord injuries, a stroke, a car accident, violent crime, etc. But there are also emotional/psychological traumas that happen from the time we are conceived and even in the womb. If mom is stressed in any way, the baby's heart rate will show this. And what new mother is NOT stressed? Biologically and evolutionarily we were meant to grow up in clans or small communities. Mothers took care of each others' babies, babies were never left alone, babies slept with parents, we were given ample time to develop our nervous systems outside the womb (ex utero). But, in our current culture, our mothers go back to work quickly, we are weened quickly, we are expected to sleep on our own quickly. Even though our brains at birth are the LEAST developed- compared to other mammals.

Founder/Lead Therapist

Tami Lack, MA

Certified Breathworker

Tami is the founder of “RESONATE!” and it’s been her lifelong dream to provide expressive arts and sound healing to all kinds of people in need, for little or no cost.

Tami is a long-time Registered and Board Certified Music Therapist,* a non-profit leader and an expressive arts therapist who passionately believes in the transformative power of music, art, dance, drama, drumming, yoga, and sound to “heal the soul.” She is obtaining her certification in “ATMA BUTI” (meaning “sound medicine” in Tibetan). Atma Buti is an international institute for sound healing, drawing practitioners from all over the world. This ancient practice uses vibrational science, Tibetan hand hammered bowls which are specifically pitched, and scientifically tested protocols and various techniques for healing of the mind, body and spirit.

*Tami is no longer board-certified in music therapy, but has done extensive and ongoing training and is often asked to speak for various groups and organizations about music therapy and all it can do. After a very long career in administration and leadership (most of which has been in the neurosciences), she is returning to her “roots,” using the arts as a healing tool for all.

Megan McDonald

Private Somatic Yoga Session

Formerly a healthcare corporate executive, Megan experienced extreme burnout and nervous system dysregulation. Seeking solace, she discovered the life-changing practices of Yoga—a discovery that saved her life and sparked a passionate new career in breathwork and meditation. Megan believes breathwork is a universal gift, accessible and beneficial to all—whether you're approaching it from a medical, athletic, or spiritual viewpoint. She is dedicated to teaching and guiding through the lens of nervous system regulation and focuses intently on cultivating safe, judgment-free spaces where your physical and emotional wellness can flourish..

With over 5 years of training and over $30,000 in financial investment, Megan holds multiple certifications that speak to her commitment to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of others while holding space for people in their own wellness journey:

500-RYT* Certification. This required nearly 3 years of training with a master Yoga instructor and an extraordinary amount of personal practice, testing and evaluation, and what Megan calls a “self-excavation” journey. Megan's mission to help others heal led her to achieve an additional breathwork certification that has allowed her to integrate the ancient Pranayama yogic breath practices with modern science.

SOMA Breath Certification. Megan chose SOMA Breath for a certification process that is rooted in the belief that our bodies and minds are connected. This certification is heavily supported by research and science, which appeals to Megan’s analytical approach to problem-solving. When we can learn how to control our breath, we can focus on the immense physical, mental, and emotional benefits that focused breathing provides. Megan will continue to attain four more certifications with additional trauma-informed training.

Trauma-informed Yoga Therapy Training: A specialized 8-month intensive trauma-informed training program that allowed Megan to learn and utilize many tools to support her students in the event that students may be activated or triggered by past traumatic experiences while practicing, breath, movement, and mindfulness work.

Her individual sessions and group classes are a sanctuary where breathwork, meditation, and movement merge to create an oasis of calm, allowing students to quiet their minds and connect deeply to the wisdom of their bodies. Every breath paves the way to a healthier, balanced, and revitalized life.

Michelle Jarest

Cranial Sacral Massage

In the early stages of my career, I realized that traditional approaches to massage gave clients temporary relief, but seldom completely resolved the issue at hand. What I realized was that massage school had taught me how to identify a tight muscle, but never taught me to ask why the muscle was tight. Applied kinesiology provided the answer that I was looking for and gave me the assessment skills to identify exactly why the muscles were responding in a certain way and how to correct the imbalances to create lasting change. My passion for learning has led me to study functional medicine, medical acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, functional movement assessment, methylation and epigenetics. I continue to study with the commitment to provide clients with the best care possible.

In my spare time I enjoy singing, skiing, hiking, learning new skill sets, and having fun with friends.  My greatest joy is spending time with family, especially my grandson.

Anne Gore

Energetic Healing Practitioner

Anne Gore was educated at Brandeis University and graduated in 1985 with a B.A. in Psychology, focused on perception and cognitive processes. While working as an in-home elder care professional for the past 25 years, she explored herbal medicine and alternative healing techniques. Anne earned a certification in Somato Respiratory Integration in 2013 and a certification in Matrix Energetics in 2017. Her current practice is an integration of the two modalities. SRI is a series of 12 exercises involving breath and movement that help people become more aware of how energy collects and flows throughout their body. Matrix Energetics techniques encourage Pattern Breaking and Reconfiguration through guided imagery provided by the practitioner. She values these two practices because they are both Teachable Tools that continue to

provide insight, relief and growth to people who use them long after a session has been completed. The first is more visceral and the second is more cerebral. Both allow for and honor our unique paths and individuality as we continue to become the Next Best Version of Ourselves.

Anne has lived in Golden Colorado since 1997.
